Situated in the heart of a beautiful and historic city in the East Midlands region of England, the University of Lincoln, UK, has established an international reputation for the quality of its teaching and research and its innovative approach to working with employers. The University has around 15,000 students across its four academic colleges, covering arts, science, business and social sciences subjects with more than 300 courses available in total at undergraduate and postgraduate level. INTERNATIONAL PATHWAYS The University of Lincoln aims to provide a stimulating and supportive environment for international students from around the world. The University of Lincoln International Study Centre runs university preparation courses for international students who do not otherwise meet the direct entry requirements for an undergraduate degree course. Students can apply for an International Foundation Year or International Year One course, depending on their English Language and academic level, for several of Lincoln’s undergraduate programmes. We are committed to undertaking purposeful research that has a real impact beyond academia. This research is changing the world and is recognised nationally and internationally. The quality and breadth of our research was highlighted in the most recent Research Excellence Framework (REF) assessment in 2014, where more than half of our submitted research was rated as internationally excellent or world leading, and where two of our subject centres were rated in the top 10 of all institutions in the UK for the quality of their research outputs. Lincoln is home to hundreds of academic researchers in more than 20 Schools across four academic Colleges, several specialist institutes, and dozens of research groups. Examples of our international multi-disciplinary approach include the work of Professor Nigel Allinson MBE and colleagues to develop world-first medical imaging technologies for use in cancer treatment. Our Lincoln Institute for Agri-food Technology is pioneering research into agri-robotics to help improve food security and productivity.  In 2019, we created the world's first Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) for agri-food robotics in collaboration with the University of Cambridge and the University of East Anglia. We are leading work to improve accessibility of museums and exhibitions, and supporting communities to explore and protect their own cultural and archaeological heritage. Our social scientists are investigating processes of political engagement, and our economists are making the case for improved infrastructure in rural areas.
