Founded in 1990, Shahed University is one of the youngest universities in Iran which has grown considerably since then. The university’s youth provides flexibility to pursue novel ways of looking at education and research.
In 2003, the university launched its main campus in southern Tehran to centralize all of the faculties in a large well-organized site. (Which makes Shahed University the closest university to the IKA International Airport).
Offering a wide range of courses on campus, Shahed University is one of Iran’s leading multidisciplinary universities which educates over 6,500 undergraduate and postgraduate students. The university offers 80 majors in eight faculties: Agricultural Sciences, Arts, Basic Sciences, Dentistry, Engineering, Humanities, Medicine, and Nursing and Midwifery.
Having nine research centers in Tehran, Shahed University pursues cross-disciplinary and interdisciplinary research. Researchers at Shahed University carry out world-class, cutting-edge research alongside seeking to add value to the society.
The Mostafa Khomeini Hospital and the Shahid Montazeri Dental Center provide a variety of health and medical services to the public. They operate under the supervision of the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Dentistry respectively.
The Startup Incubator of Shahed University has been in operation since 2015 and has supported over 30 startup ventures ranging from the healthcare to agriculture and data science domains.
