Industry-University Cooperation
Industry-university cooperation is the driving force behind Hanyang's successful efforts to put ideas and innovation into practice. In 2003, Hanyang University launched the Industry-University Cooperation Foundation (IUCF), a first among Korea's private universities, in order to create a cooperative environment that was conducive to high quality research and professional training. Hanyang's IUCF is the nation's largest organization of its kind. Specifically, the ERICA Campus is equipped with Korea's largest university-research-industry cooperation infrastructure. Hanyang University and its partners conduct collaborative projects and extensive networking. Some of the collaborative research include to create a software course with Samsung Electronics and to build a joint Automotive Research Center with Hyundai Motors.
Volunteering work
The founding philosophy of Hanyang University is "Love in Truth and in Deed." Indeed, Hanyang is the first university in Korea to establish its own public service corps. The Hanyang Volunteer Corps (HVC) provides students with opportunities to experience a wide range of community and overseas volunteer activities. Hanyang students not only learn to understand and appreciate the value of philanthropic love, but also contribute to society positively and actively.
