Why Pharmacy at Sunderland?
• Sunderland’s Pharmacy department and well-equipped Faculty of Applied Sciences is one of the
largest in the UK, with over 3,000 students.
• A purpose-built model pharmacy with consultation suite is used for both undergraduate and postgraduate pharmacy teaching, allowing students to develop their communication skills.
• 97% of graduates achieve quality jobs in distinguished careers.
• Accreditation: General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• The President of The Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, pharmacy’s governing body in 2007/08, was Sunderland graduate Hemant Patell and four of our other graduates are members of the society’s council.
Why Sunderland?
• The University received the Student Experience 2010 award at the Times Higher Education Awards.
• The University places great emphasis on graduate employability – working with some of the world’s largest organisations such as Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline, Microsoft and Yahoo!
• ‘World-leading’ research in 10 areas – including Pharmacy (RAE 2008).
• First class facilities – including the Sir Tom Cowie Campus at St Peter’s – voted one of the top four campuses in the UK with the ‘wow’ factor, by CABE.
The two campuses – one in the city centre and one by the sea – undoubtedly offer some of the best university facilities in the UK, in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK, with Newcastle, Durham and Edinburgh nearby.
