The University Foundation (Media) is a comprehensive programme of academic subjects, study skills and English language. It is specially designed for international students who want to study an undergraduate degree at De Montfort University, but do not have the academic qualifications or English level required for direct entry.
On successful completion of this course, you can progress to the first year of selected bachelor’s degrees at De Montfort University.

Completion of high school with pass grades, equivalent to 5 passes (A* – E) at IGCSE in relevant subjects (excluding native language). |

English level equivalent to IELTS 5.5 (5.5 in all skills). Students with lower scores will be offered a pre-sessional English course lasting 6 weeks (IELTS 5.0, 4.5 in each skill) or 12 weeks (IELTS 4.5, 4.0 in each skill). |
| Minimum Age |
Students must be at least 18 years old when they progress from the foundation course to a degree at De Montfort university (i.e. 17 years old for the September start foundation, or 17 years and 4 months for the January start). |
